Soup Recipe Tips
  1. Season to taste. Recipes are always more like guidelines when it comes to cooking. Taste these soups and stews as you go and adjust seasoning as you prefer. Salt and acid (like fresh lemon juice) are some of our favourite ways to add flavour.
  2. Spice it up. Like your soup with a little kick of heat? Hot sauce, crushed chili peppers, and freshly ground black pepper can wake up your soup (and your tastebuds).
  3. Save some for later. Soup almost always tastes better the next day after the ingredients have had more time to blend. These recipes freeze beautifully in an airtight container and can be reheated on the stove or in the microwave.

Homemade Turkey Barley Noodle Soup

Parsnip, Leek, and Apple Soup

For a fall-inspired side, lunch, or light dinner, we’ve crafted this plant-based soup recipe. So rich and creamy, you’d probably think it was made with dairy! Apples show up twice in this recipe, in both the soup itself and the beautiful, flavourful garnish. For an extra dose of harvest appeal, add some toasted pumpkin seeds to your garnish. This will give crunch as well as a sprinkling of nutty flavour.

Tuscan White Bean Stew

When you’re cooking on a budget, it’s economical to prepare a large batch of something, portion it out, and freeze it to enjoy later. This vegan stew recipe is perfect for meal prepping in addition to being hearty and delicious.

This dish uses cannellini beans (also known as white kidney beans), which are full of fibre, protein, vitamins, and minerals. Creamy Asparagus Soup

For a bowl of farm-fresh flavour, look no further than this creamy asparagus soup. Rich but not heavy, this sumptuous soup uses asparagus and tender baby spinach for flavour as well as its vibrant green hue. If you’re looking for a bean recipe to freeze in batches and enjoy later, this is the dish for you.
