Recipe Roundup: Plant-Based Entertaining

The holidays are a time for celebration with family and friends. At Farm Boy, we want everyone to feel included. That’s why our chefs created a dinner menu that’s easy to make, delicious to eat, and totally vegan so no one feels left out!

When you’re playing host over the holidays, the last thing you want to do is spend all your time in the kitchen. This plant-based menu is meant for entertaining, which means it can be made ahead of time and enjoyed throughout the evening.

A fancy mocktail made with just three ingredients! An elegant way to celebrate the season, this bevvie is a little sweet and a little tart. If your guests are interested in the boozy side of things, try adding some sparkling wine! Make this ahead of time by prepping glasses with the raspberry puree and topping with the bubbles of your choice before serving.

Starter: Roasted Red Pepper & Harissa Dip

In addition to being totally delicious, this dip has another excellent thing going for it: it can be made ahead of time and refrigerated until needed! A little spicy and a little sweet, this plant-based dip is a great starter to serve while your guests mingle. We recommend offering fresh veggies or our Double Baked Pita Crackers to scoop up all this goodness.

Side: Parmezzalad

Gorgeous and vibrant, this salad is a light alternative to some of the heavier sides we see around the holidays. Studded with chunks of roasted butternut squash and juicy pomegranate arils, the real star of this salad is our Vegan Parmezzan! Salty, sharp, and super cheesy, this organic plant-based powerhouse packs in the flavour! Make this easy on yourself by having the major salad components ready to go before your guests arrive.

Main: Moroccan Vegetable Tagine

An unexpected main for your holiday table, this spiced dish is sure to wow! Made with spices like our Spanish Saffron and Organic Ground Cumin, this tagine uses a Dutch oven to develop flavour. Serve this veggie-loaded tagine over rice or couscous, depending on your preference. Bonus? It’s super simple to make!

Dessert: Almond Apple Cranberry Crumble

Easy to construct ahead of time, simply pop this dish in the oven an hour before serving. In addition to being vegan, this dessert also happens to be gluten-free, too! Made with seasonally-appropriate ingredients like cranberries, apples, and crystallized ginger, your guests will be begging for seconds (and the recipe!).
