Farm Boy Harvard Square (Hamilton) Opening March 22

Ottawa, ON (March 14, 2018) –  Ontario’s fastest growing local fresh food retailer, Farm Boy, today announced its newest location is set to open Thursday, March 22nd.

Earlier this year the Eastern Ontario-based Farm Boy announced that it would bring its wholesome, healthy, fresh market shopping experience to Hamilton marking the chain’s 26th location and the second store opening this month as part of the chain’s ambitious expansion plans.

Located at the Harvard Square Plaza at 801 Mohawk Road West, the 22,000 sq. ft. Farm Boy store created 150 new jobs for the community and true to their roots promises to deliver local shoppers a world-class experience with abundant fresh foods and exceptional customer service.

The new store will kick off with an official ribbon cutting ceremony at 7:45 a.m. on March 22.  Doors open at 8 a.m.  The first 50 shoppers in line will receive a $20 Farm BoyTM Gift Card.

Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, March 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Local residents are invited to join the store’s grand opening celebration and while there sample many of the tasty treats Farm Boy has to offer and meet some of the many local suppliers that are featured in store. Children will have a chance to meet Farm Boy mascot, LULU the cow and enjoy free face painting.

“I am quite delighted that Farm Boy has decided to invest into the Hamilton market at this west mountain location.” said Councillor Terry Whitehead Ward 8 (West Hamilton Mountain) “It is clear from the plethora of calls I’ve received that the timing, the product and the strong reputation of Farm Boy providing fresh, quality foods will be well received by this community.”

In addition to abundant varieties of farm fresh produce, butcher quality meats, artisan cheese and fresh dairy, local residents can look forward to plenty of locally made products and fresh, delicious chef-inspired meals with a fast-casual restaurant experience that includes mouth-watering, made to order stone-baked pizza, stir-fries and sushi – plus plenty of savoury and sweet treats made from scratch in the Farm Boy Kitchen.

Busy, time-pressed shoppers looking to eat well on the run can pick up breakfast, lunch or dinner to enjoy at home or relax in the store’s comfortably designed, Wi-Fi enabled eating area.

“Offering fresh, wholesome foods and friendly service has been the heart and soul of our business since 1981,” says Jeff York, Farm Boy Co-CEO. “We are excited to be opening our newest location in the Hamilton West Mountain community and we promise to work hard to earn their business.”
