Farm Boy Etobicoke Opening March 1

Ottawa, ON (February 22, 2018) – Ontario’s fastest growing local fresh food chain, Farm Boy today announced its newest location is set to open Thursday, March 1st.

Earlier this year the Eastern Ontario-based Farm Boy announced that it would bring its wholesome, healthy, fresh market shopping experience to Etobicoke marking the chain’s 25th location and the first of more planned for the Greater Toronto Area.

Located at the Shoppes of Alderwood at 841 Brown’s Line, the 20,000 sq. ft. Farm Boy store created 150 new jobs for the community and true to their roots promises to deliver local shoppers a world-class experience with abundant fresh foods and exceptional customer service.

The new store will kick off with an official ribbon cutting ceremony at 7:45 a.m. on March 1. Doors open at 8 a.m. The first 50 shoppers in line will receive a $20 Farm Boy™ Gift Card.

Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Local residents are invited to join the store’s grand opening celebration and while there sample many of the tasty treats Farm Boy has to offer and meet some of the many local suppliers that are featured in store. Children will have a chance to meet Farm Boy mascot, LULU the cow and enjoy free face painting.

“Alderwood residents have been eagerly awaiting a new grocery store,” said Councillor Mark Grimes, Ward 6 (Etobicoke-Lakeshore). “Together with property owner, Gargan Investments Limited, we welcome Farm Boy to the community as the marquee store for the Shoppes of Alderwood. We are thrilled that Farm Boy chose South Etobicoke as the home of its first Toronto location!”

In addition to abundant varieties of farm fresh produce, butcher quality meats, artisan cheese and fresh dairy, Etobicoke residents can look forward to plenty of locally made products and fresh, delicious chef-inspired meals with a fast-casual restaurant experience that includes mouth-watering, made to order wood-fired pizza, stir-fries and sushi – plus plenty of savoury and sweet treats made from scratch in the Farm Boy Kitchen.

Busy, time-pressed shoppers looking to eat well on the run can pick up breakfast, lunch or dinner to enjoy at home or relax in the store’s comfortably designed, Wi-Fi enabled eating area.
“Offering fresh, wholesome foods and friendly service has been the heart and soul of our business since 1981,” says Jeff York, Farm Boy Co-CEO. “We are excited to be opening our newest location in the community of Etobicoke and we promise to work hard to earn their business.”
