Farm Boy to offer beer in three Ontario foods stores

Fresh food chain will apply their winning local, artisan approach to brewery offerings

Ottawa, ON (December 15, 2015) – Selected by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), Farm Boy is proud to be one of the earliest food stores to include beer in their product offering.

The decision was made on November 18, 2015 and Farm Boy expects to have product in three of their 19 stores by Friday December 18th including: Farm Boy Tenth Line in Ottawa’s east end, plus Farm Boy London, Beaverbrook, and Farm Boy Whitby.

The fresh food chain, which has grown significantly beyond its Eastern Ontario roots in the past few years, has built a solid reputation for providing the freshest, highest quality foods and excellent customer service, with an emphasis on local, artisan and specialty foods.

Farm Boy intends to apply the same winning approach to its inclusion of beer, focusing on a selectively curated line of local, finely crafted, small batch and limited edition brews, almost exclusively from Ontario.

Says Farm Boy CEO Jeff York, “Our customers have come to enjoy the experience of finding high quality, artisanal products made fresh in Ontario in our stores, so naturally we will apply this same approach with beer. Introducing unique, and specialty craft beer is a natural extension of our business and will complement the shopping experience giving customers another great reason to shop in our stores.”
