Sumo Citrus & Pecan Scones

These rich, flaky scones are easy to put together for even the most novice baker. Flavoured with juicy Sumo Citrus and studded with toasted pecans, they make for a sweet snack, dessert, or breakfast on weekend morning!


  1. In large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, zest, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  2. Cut in butter, working it in until butter is in small bits. Mixture will look crumbly.
  3. Add 1 cup whipping cream and pecans and mix using a fork. Mix until combined, not overworked.
  4. Shape dough into a circle, ¾” thick. Cut into 8 wedges.
  5. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet 2” apart. Brush with remaining 2 Tbsp whipping cream.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 18-22 minutes.
  7. Cool on wire rack.
  8. While scones are cooling, make your glaze.
  9. Juice 1 of the zested Sumo Citrus oranges to obtain 1 Tbsp of juice.
  10. In small bowl, combine icing sugar and Sumo Citrus juice, whisking until smooth.
  11. Drizzle over cooled scones and serve.


  • 2 ¼ cups Farm Boy™ All Purpose Flour (1 kg)
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp zest of Sumo Citrus orange
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter cut into cubes
  • 1 cup + 2 Tbsp whipping cream
  • ½ cup Farm Boy™ Raw Pecans (150 gr) toasted and roughly chopped
  • ½ cup icing sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Sumo Citrus orange juice
