Gingerbread Swiss Roll Trifle

If you’re looking for a dessert to impress this holiday season, look no further than our Gingerbread Swiss Roll Trifle! Very simple to put together, it makes a showstopper at your dinner table. Best of all, it can be made in advance and feeds a crowd!

Standing time: 6-12 hours

Directions

  1. In mixer bowl, combine 1 ½ cups whipping cream and sour cream. Whip until stiff peaks form.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine remaining 1 ½ cups whipping cream, caramel syrup and ground cinnamon. Whip until stiff peaks form.
  3. Line edges and bottom of trifle bowl with slices of gingerbread Swiss rolls. Drizzle with 1 Tbsp of whiskey (if using).
  4. Spread 1/2 of the caramel cream, followed with 1/4 of the cookie chips and another layer of gingerbread rolls. Spread 1/2 of the sour cream whipping cream. Top with 1/4 of the cookie chips and another layer of gingerbread rolls and a drizzle of whiskey (if using).
  5. Spread with 1/2 of the caramel cream, followed with 1/4 of the cookie chips and another layer of gingerbread rolls and a drizzle of whiskey (if using).
  6. Finish with a layer of the remaining whipping cream and a sprinkling of the remaining cookie chip crumbs and dried cranberries. Chill for at least 6 hours, but best if overnight.

Ingredients

  • 2 packs Gingerbread Swiss Rolls sliced 1/4" thick
  • 1 pack Farm Boy™ Ginger Cookie Chips (170 g) crumbled
  • 1/3 cups whiskey or Cointreau optional
  • 3 cups whipping cream divided
  • 1 cup Farm Boy™ 14% Sour Cream (500 mL)
  • 1 cup caramel flavoured dessert syrup
  • 1 tsp Farm Boy™ Organic Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Farm Boy™ Organic Dried Cranberries
