Farm Boy Introduces Early Shopping Hour

OTTAWA, ON (March 18, 2020)

Dear Customers,

It’s a tough time for Canadians. The COVID-19 outbreak is like nothing we have ever faced before.

We have had many customers reach out asking if we would consider early shopping times for seniors.

The government has made it clear that those most at risk, including seniors, should stay at home and encourages family, friends, and neighbours to help support them during these challenging times and we highly encourage this. But for those that have to get out for essential supplies, we want to make shopping a little easier.

As of Friday, March 20th, we’ll devote 7:00 am to 8:00 am Monday through Saturday and 8:00 am to 9:00 am on Sundays, to the most vulnerable customers and those that require extra attention, particularly seniors, people with disabilities and pregnant women.

Over the last few days, our stores have seen an unprecedented number of customers visit us. Ontarians have been incredibly worried about having the supplies they need to support their families. Our team members across the province have been hard at work, around the clock, to meet your family’s needs. We want you to know you can count on us.

We work with incredible people. Our frontline retail and distribution centre team members have been working endless hours. Grocers provide an essential service and the team at Farm Boy continues to go above and beyond.

If you’re in one of our stores today, please try to say “thank you” to the incredible people we get to call team members.

And thank you to everyone for stepping up across our province and country. Doctors, nurses, government, retail. Together, we’ll get through this – even if we need to be apart more than we’d like right now.

Above all let’s take care of ourselves and our neighbours.

Sincerely,
