Farm Boy Inc. (Farm Boy), a locally owned retail grocer that specializes in quality fresh foods, unique complementary items, and exceptional customer service in Eastern Ontario today announces the grand opening date of its new Blue Heron Mall store, Thursday, November 16, 2006.

Located at 1500 Bank Street, this new location houses 16,000 square feet of retail space and will provide 100 new jobs to the local market.

This new opening brings Farm Boy’s total to eight (8) Ottawa locations, with a 9th opening planned in the Kanata Signature Centre in the summer of 2007. The Company also has a location in Cornwall, Ontario.

“It’s quite different from our newer stores,” says Donny Milito, President of Farm Boy. “It’s a little smaller than the others, but we’re really pleased and excited with the layout of the store. In addition to our produce, meat, and bakery departments, which customers expect from Farm Boy, the Farm Boy Kitchen is one of the store’s highlights. It boasts the culinary talents of Chef Bryan Jones and his staff, who will cook gourmet foods fresh daily to be sold on a take-out basis,” stated Milito.
