Ottawa, ON (June 1, 2017) – Ontario’s fastest growing local fresh food chain, Farm Boy today announced it will bring its wholesome and healthy, fresh market shopping experience to Etobicoke.
Set to open this fall in the Shoppes of Alderwood at 841 Brown’s Line, the 20,000 sq. ft. Farm Boy store will create 150 new jobs for the community and true to their roots promises to deliver local shoppers a world-class experience with abundant fresh foods and exceptional customer service.
“Alderwood residents have been eagerly awaiting a new grocery store,” said Councillor Mark Grimes, Ward 6 (Etobicoke-Lakeshore). “I have been working with the property owner, Gargan Investments Limited, to help secure a retailer to serve as the marquee store for the Shoppes of Alderwood, and we are thrilled that Farm Boy chose South Etobicoke as the home of its first Toronto location!”
In addition to abundant varieties of farm fresh produce, butcher quality meats, artisan cheese and fresh dairy, Etobicoke residents can look forward to plenty of locally made products and fresh, delicious chef-inspired meals with a fast-casual restaurant experience that includes mouth-watering, made to order wood-fired pizza, stir-fries and sushi – plus plenty of savoury and sweet treats made from scratch in the Farm Boy Kitchen. Busy, time-pressed shoppers looking to eat well on the run can pick up breakfast, lunch or dinner to enjoy at home or relax in the store’s comfortably designed, Wi-Fi enabled eating area.
“Offering fresh, wholesome foods and friendly service has been the heart and soul of our business since 1981,” says Jeff York, Farm Boy co-CEO. “After opening our locations in Whitby and Pickering we received many requests from residents in the Toronto area asking us to open a Farm Boy in their neighbourhood. We are excited to share the news today with the Etobicoke community and promise to work hard to earn their business.”
