These juicy and delicious carrot “mock dogs” are the perfect handheld dish that brings out the humble carrot’s natural sweetness. The great thing about this entrée is that you can prepare them in a variety of ways and season them according to your taste. From classic BBQ to Japanese teriyaki, take your inspiration from the cuisines you love. 

Carrot "Mock Dogs"


  • Carrots 
  • Honey, BBQ Sauce, or Sauce of Choice 
  • Salt & Pepper 
  • Herbs: Thyme, Rosemary 
  • Farm Boy™ Harissa Seasoning
  • Optional – Rice Paper Sheets 

Cooking Method: Grill, Roast, or Braise. 

Quick Tips and Instructions: 

  1. Season to taste with, Salt, Pepper, and Farm Boy™ Harissa Seasoning
  2. Sear carrots by grilling or panfrying and finish roasting in oven with herbs. 
    • Optional: braise with a little bit of stock and sauces of your choice to impart savoury flavour. Cook until tender, but not mushy. 
  3. Glaze with honey or BBQ sauce and roast/grill until caramelized and sticky. 
  4. Optionally: Dip Rice Paper in warm water until softened and wrap each carrot individually. Panfry until crispy.
  5. Serve on a soft roll with your favourite toppings and sauces! 

Chickpea Burgers 

Who doesn’t love a savoury, meaty burger? This delicious patty is full of hearty ingredients that combine to form a symphony of umami. These burgers are highly adaptable and can be transformed to fit any flavour profile or theme. They are great on their own or as a traditional burger sandwich with sauces, gravies, crisp salads, slaws, and more! 

Chickpea Burger


  • Chickpeas (canned) 
  • Diced Onions, Garlic, Mushrooms, Celery, Carrots, and Sweet Potato 
  • 1 to 2 Eggs 
  • Breadcrumbs 
  • Salt, Pepper
  • Oregano and Farm Boy™ Za’atar Seasoning

Cooking Method: Panfry 

Quick Tips and Instructions: 

  1. Sauté your veggies together in a pan and season to taste with salt, pepper, Za’atar Seasoning, and oregano. 
    • Try to add the veggies in the order of their cooking times(1 minute between each). 
    • Order: onions, garlic, mushrooms, celery, sweet potato, carrots. 
  2. Add chickpeas into the pan and cook until ingredients are caramelized and tender. 
  3. Set aside to cool for 10 minutes. 
  4. In a large bowl, mix the chickpea veggie mixture, breadcrumbs, oregano, Za’atar Seasoning, and eggs until you have reached a burger patty-like consistency. 
    • If the mixture is too dry add a little liquid (water, milk, oat milk etc.). 
  5. Form patties and panfry until golden brown and cooked through.

Cauliflower Steaks 

This hearty vegetable does extremely well when seared as its firm texture allows you to develop a nice crust. Whether you are grilling, panfrying, or roasting, a thick cauliflower steak makes a great centrepiece for any veggie-based meal. Consider cooking it two ways; one as a juicy steak and the other, as a puréed dairy-free cream sauce tossed with lentil pasta for a wholesome entrée! 

Cauliflower Steak


Cooking Method: Grill, Roast, Sauté 

Quick Tips and Instructions: 

  1. Season both sides of your cauliflower with salt, pepper, and spices. 
  2. On the grill or a grill pan, sear your cauliflower to develop charr, caramelization, smokiness.  
  3. Top with fresh rosemary and finish on a medium heat to desired tenderness. 
  4. Mix lemon juice, Garlic Flowers, and olive oil to create a quick sauce. 
  5. Plate steak and garnish with your Garlic Flower sauce. 

Lentil Curry with Spiced Rice

Lentil Curry with Rice


  • Water 
  • Lentils (preferably canned) 
  • Salt and Pepper 
  • Honey or sugar alternative 
  • Farm Boy™ Ras El Hanout Seasoning
  • Parboiled Rice 
  • Diced Onions, Garlic, Carrots, Celery 
  • Cubed Potatoes 
  • Dried Raisins 
  • Olive Oil 

Cooking Method: Stove top or Rice Cooker 

Quick Tips and Instructions: 

  1. In a pot, sauté onions, garlic, carrots, celery, potatoes until caramelized. 
  2. Add lentils to your pot and sauté to incorporate flavoured and add honey to taste. 
  3. Add water to your pot (just enough to cover your ingredients) and allow to simmer and reduce to your desired texture. 
  4. In another pot of water, boil your parboiled rice until cooked. 
    • Drain water and set rice aside. 
  5. In your empty rice pot, sauté onions and garlic with Ras El Hanout Seasoning and raisins until caramelized 
    • Put your rice back into the pot and ensure that it is well incorporated. 
  6. Plate in a bowl and enjoy! 

Korean Cold Buckwheat Noodles 

These noodles are certifiably delicious! Full of bright flavours and a variety of textures, each bite is refreshing to the palate. Another easy dish to prepare, simply blend ingredients to make a sauce, cook and cool your noodles, plate, sauce, and add the toppings of your choice. This dish makes for a great main course along with an array of sides that range from tangy to savoury. Who says vegetarian food is boring?

 Korean Cold Noodles


  • Thin Buckwheat Noodles  
  • Rough chopped Pear, Apple, Tomato, Onion, Garlic, Ginger 
  • Vinegar, Lime Juice, Soy Sauce.
  • Water 
  • Olive Oil 
  • Sesame Oil 
  • Salt and Pepper 
  • Honey 
  • Korean Seasoning 
  • Sliced Cucumbers, Carrots, Green Onions, Radish 
  • Farm Boy™ Korean Seasoning
  • Toasted Sesame Seeds 

Cooking Method: Blender and Stove Top 

Quick Tips and Instructions: 

  1. In a pot of boiling water, cook your buckwheat noodles until tender with a firm chew. 
    • Drain and cool in cold water to stop from overcooking. 
  2. Toss your noodles in sesame and olive oil. 
  3. In a blender, combine your pears, apple, tomato, onion, garlic, ginger, vinegar, lime juice, soy sauce, sesame oil, and honey to form your sauce. 
  4. Plate your noodles and top with sauce. 
  5. Garnish with sliced cucumbers, carrots, green onions, radish, kimchi, and toasted sesame seeds. 

Optional: Serve with sautéed Tofu, Tofu Tempura, or a boiled Egg.
