Sweet and Spicy Togarashi Salmon

Courses: Main Course

  • Serves: 4

  • Difficulty: Easy

Fish and sweet and savoury marinades go hand in hand. Our Sweet and Spicy Togarashi Salmon has very balanced flavours: sweetness from the maple syrup and salt and umami from the soy sauce. Topping the salmon with togarashi gives it a bit of heat and crunch from the sesame seeds and poppy seeds.

This recipe is perfect for those busy weeknights! You only need to marinate the salmon for 15 minutes before baking. While the fish is in the oven, you can put together a fresh green salad and you’re ready to eat!

Directions

  1. In medium bowl, combine maple syrup, olive oil and soy sauce.
  2. Place salmon in baking dish and add maple syrup mixture.
  3. Marinate for 15 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle salmon with togarashi spice.
  5. Bake at 400°F for 15-20 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 158°F.
  6. Toss baby greens with lemon garlic dressing.
  7. Serve salmon on a bed of greens with lemon wedges.
